Giulio Cabrini, M.D.

Doctor in Medicine at the School of Medicine of the University of Padova, IT (1979) and trained at the Institute of General Pathology of the University of Verona, IT, and the Laboratory of Membrane Biophysics of the University of California San Francisco, CA, U.S.A. (1982-1986), he founded and directed the Laboratory of Molecular Pathology of the University Hospital of Verona from 1986 to 2017, a wellknown lab strongly committed to research on cystic fibrosis. In the years, he developed research projects applied to experimental therapies, from gene therapy to the investigation on new modulators of the defective CFTR protein and more recently on cystic fibrosis-tailored molecules to fight the lung tissue damage produced by chronic lung inflammation of these patients. He has been Adjunct Professor of General Pathology at the University of Verona School of Medicine (from 1995 to 2017). He has been appointed as Professor (Eminente Studioso) at the Department of Life Sciences and Biotechnology of the University of Ferrara, IT (2018) and elected as Director of the new Research Center on Innovative Therapies for Cystic Fibrosis (2020).
